Despite the fact that a teacher's work is increasingly online and more digital than ever, many teachers still strongly prefer a paper teacher's agenda. For them, a tangible agenda is still a nice and familiar tool for organizing the lesson week. Are you active in education and are you curious about what distinguishes a teacher's agenda from other agendas and whether it suits you? Then read on!
Who is a teacher's agenda for?
Whether you are a primary school teacher or a high school final year teacher, you will recognize that you need an overview and structure in your profession. As a teaching professional, you will ask yourself the following questions: “When are my meetings scheduled? Which oral tests and exams are scheduled this week? Are there any special circumstances that I need to take into account this week?”. A paper teacher’s diary answers these questions at a glance and helps you maintain an overview of your planning. You will never be able to be and remain so structured if you rely solely on your memory or with notes on loose sheets of paper. With a better overview of your appointments and to-do’s, you can work more effectively and efficiently, which will leave you with more time and energy to invest in your profession. You can of course also combine private appointments and those of your work in your teacher’s diary, which will keep you even better organized.
What can you find in a teacher's diary?
A teacher's agenda is specially designed with the usage requirements of teachers as a starting point and the input of teachers from the field. Over the years, our teacher's agendas have been further developed into the perfect planning tool for education professionals. The extra overviews and planners that you find in the teacher's agendas have been specially developed for use by teachers, and you will therefore not find them in our regular agendas or planners. Below you will find more information about the unique overviews and planners in our teacher's agendas:
Weekly overview: a detailed overview of the week, where you can easily plan your lessons, meetings and other tasks. The timetable hours 1-10 are pre-printed in the interior, this offers you even more support and structure when making your planning.
Class planner: this overview was created because many teachers and instructors have classes from different school years and various study programs. The goal is to provide insight into which classes are absent at which time due to other activities (internships, themes, excursions), or when PTAs or other test moments are scheduled. This way you can better oversee a period of 5 weeks per page. At the top of the class planner there is space to indicate the classes, in the planner below you can indicate per date with a check mark, cross, sticker or other symbol that a class will not be there or that a test moment is scheduled.
Class list: with a class list you can create an overview of all students per class (max. 35) and note down special features per student. At the top left of the page you can write down the name/title of the class, below that you can note down all the names of the students. In the vertical fields at the top of the planner you can note down criteria or special features such as dyslexia, ADHD, or fear of failure. Because the fields are blank you can mention the criteria/factors that you find important.
Yearly Planner: An overview of the entire year to mark important dates and make long-term plans.
Monthly planners: a monthly overview to record specific goals and deadlines, with a month per sheet you have a beautiful overview on a monthly basis.
School year overview: a unique overview of the entire school/academic year complete with week numbers and dates. In this overview you can visualize holidays, study days, test periods and other special events in one overview.
Plan & tab stickers: the teacher's agendas come with plan and tab stickers as standard. You can use these stickers to give certain appointments even more priority, or to categorize different types of to-do's.
The class planner, class lists and annual overview are unique additional planners and overviews that you will not find in our other agendas and make a teacher's agenda a unique planning tool for you as a teacher.
How do you choose a teacher's agenda?
If you have decided that one of our teacher's diaries is really something for you, then it is time to find your ideal new copy. Each collection for a new school year we release a new series of teacher's diaries, in different styles, binding methods and formats. Based on your preferences and needs, you can choose your new teacher's diaries. Below we give you some pointers and support in making your choice.
Design: for each new study/school year we release a new series of teacher's agendas, in which we take into account the latest trends but also include popular prints and motifs. This way you can choose a beautiful new agenda that completely matches your taste and style for each new school year.
Binding: like most of our agendas and planners, the teacher agendas are also available in two different binding methods, thread-bound and spiral-bound (also called ring binder). Both binding methods have advantages and disadvantages, but the choice of binding method is mainly a personal preference.
Size: the teacher's agendas are available in 2 sizes, the smaller A5 size and the larger ±A4 size. By choosing the larger size agenda you will of course experience much more writing space, but the downside of a larger agenda is the increased weight and the fact that you can take the agenda less easily with you in your bag.
Layout: for years, the layout of the teacher's agendas in vertical columns per day of the weekly overview has been fixed. However, this has recently changed with the introduction of a teacher's agenda with a 'horizontal' layout of the weekly overview. This type of weekly overview is currently only available in 1 version, but we hope to learn from the feedback of our customers whether this new interior is preferred.
A teacher's agenda offers you as an educational professional the necessary structure and overview in an often hectic teaching week. With practical tools such as class planners, monthly and annual overviews and space for both work and private appointments, these agendas help you to work more efficiently and not to overlook anything. Choose a design that suits you, determine your favorite binding method and start the new school year in an organized way.
